Econet Wireless Burundi is hiring a Trade Marketing Officer to support its marketing operations across the country.


Key Responsibilities

1. Managing Visibility and Achieving Brand Goals


  • Develop efficient and effective visibility in Trade and Outdoor to ensure subscribers choose ECONET as their first choice.
    • Identify key competitive forces and plan tactical actions to improve In-Trade Presence (ITP).
    • Propose creative directions for local visibility, aligned with brand guidelines and under the Manager’s supervision.

    2. Development of Brand Visibility to Support Trade and Outdoor

  • Establish a visibility media timetable in collaboration with key stakeholders.
    • Participate in zonal business meetings to define and standardize visibility by region.
    • Work closely with field teams to ensure effective deployment at Trade and Terrain levels.

    3. Managing and Optimizing the Visibility Budget

  • Focus on impactful media investments aligned with brand priorities.
    • Monitor visibility expenses and ensure alignment with budgetary limits.
    • Support the best use of available resources to achieve superior visibility compared to competitors.
    • Report all activities and expenses to the Trade Marketing Manager for performance review.

    4. Evaluation of Service Quality and Partner Management

  • Ensure suppliers’ work complies with the brand’s graphic charter and core values.
    • Conduct quality checks on visibility deployments.
    • Contribute to evaluating partner performance based on value for money.
    • Assist in managing Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensuring adherence to terms.
    • Support enforcement of contract terms, including sanctions for non-compliance.

    • Critical and creative thinking abilities.
    • High standards of professionalism, maturity, and confidentiality.
    C. Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Management, or related field.
    • Solid knowledge of communication strategies and tools.
    • Strong analytical and statistical skills.
    • Excellent spoken and written communication in English and French.
    D. Experience
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
    • Background in communications, advertising, or journalism agencies is an added advantage.
    • Good understanding of media and agency operations.
