Key Responsibilities
MONITOR SYSTEM ACTIVITIES
- Provides health surveillance and alarm reporting for passive and Active infrastructure utilizing Network Operations Centre (NOC) in line with O&M operations 24-hour roster.
- Monitors resolution of trouble tickets for passive and Active infrastructure.
- Provide initial remote investigation and diagnosis of incidents.
- Monitor the progress of all Incident Management tasks.
- Reclassify or escalate incidents to the appropriate support group for resolution where required
- Provide regular communication regarding the progress of incidents to all stakeholders.
- Performs post-resolution customer review to ensure that all work services are functioning properly and all incident documentation is complete.
- Prepare scheduled reports showing statistics of Incidents resolved/unresolved etc.
- Responsible for incident closure.
FAULT MANAGEMENT
- Opens and analyses trouble tickets isolating failures related to elements of the power passive infrastructure.
- Ensures all docket information is captured in activity log.
- Performs basic troubleshooting of power systems to isolate the trouble and take appropriate action to resolve.
- Allocates trouble tickets in line with laid down procedures maintenance.
- Escalates all customer impacting events to the appropriate internal support groups and contractors to ensure all customer SLAs and infrastructure MTTRs are met.
- Offers Tier I support in response to restoration of trouble tickets.
- Performs escalation and notification to keep management and other stakeholders informed during system outages.
REPORTS & RECORDS
- Ensures all relevant parties are notified of the results of the maintenance, fault management, and corrective maintenance activities
- Completes routine maintenance logs, activity logs, fault records and spare tracker within stipulated timelines.
- Submits the daily performance report to the Network Operations Manager.
- Ensures documents are available to all appropriate authorities to inspect.
Education
- Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or Related Discipline.
- COSC passes or equivalent including Mathematics and Science.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of NOC experience or similar environment
- Experience of diagnosing network and service issues, following them through to resolution.
