Econet Wireless, the leading telecom company in Burundi, is looking for talented professionals to fill five exciting positions within our dynamic team:

1. Team Leader Transmission Network : with key responsibilities to Contributes to the definition of the Transport Network (Microwave and Fibre) target architecture; evaluating different topologies and technologies to comply with future capacity, quality and capability needs; following protection guidelines. A University Degree in Telecommunications or equivalent is required. A master's degree in Telecommunications would be an advantage. The candidate must have experience working in a network vendor or telecommunications carrier environment with hands on knowledge of carrier backbone networking, minimum 3-5+ years of working experience in transport planning which includes Microwave, Fibre and IP planning and optimization.

2. Radio Planning and Optimization Engineer: with key responsibilities to Contribute to the definition of the Radio Network target architecture; evaluating different topologies and technologies to comply with future capacity, quality and capability needs. A University Degree in Telecommunications or equivalent, a master's degree in Telecommunications would be an advantage. A minimum of 3 years of experience in GSM Radian Planning and optimization.

3. Site Acquisition and Lease Admin Officer: with key responsibilities to Identify and negotiate leases for land and space to be located for the purposes of developing the network and ensure that network development and growth are planned, implemented and completed with minimum cost to the company. A University Degree in civil work or equivalent is required with at least 3 years of relevant experience.

4. Site Power and Conditioning Specialist: with key responsibilities to Define power requirements for new sites in collaboration with radio planning and deployment teams, Make suggestions along with design for hybrid power solutions, Get update on grid power line extension by REGIDESO through interaction with field team or through field visits. Output a list of sites that are close to grid power line point of connection, etc. A University Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required with a minimum of 3 years of experience in power planning and maintenance (grid power, solar power, generators).

5. Field Operations Technician: with key responsibilities, in liaison with NOC and contractors, diagnoses and troubleshoots faults in Econet's power systems (solar systems, generators & fuel tanks, rectifiers, inverters, UPS, batteries, etc.) and environmental control systems (air conditioning), as well as telemetry systems. Diploma/Degree in Electrical (Heavy Current) Engineering or equivalent qualification is required with at least two years of hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of power systems, electrical control systems, air conditioning and auxiliary equipment, preferably in a telecommunications environment.
